Ipsy March 2014 "Destination Beauty"
Ipsy is a beauty bag subscription. It's $10 a month and shipping is free. Though there are a few states where you do pay tax. One being North Carolina. But for your $10 you get 4-5 deluxe size samples sent to you in a cute makeup bag. Every month the theme is different so no two bags will be alike. You answer basic questions of likes and dislikes and Ipsy will do it's best to match that months selection of products to you. In the recent months they have added more skincare and haircare products. The reason I had signed up was because they had seemed to be more of a makeup subscription then just a beauty subscription.
This months bag is an exclusive design from artist Klari Reis. The design is from her "Street Anatomy" series and this particular design is the streets of San Francisco. Where Reis' hometown and Ipsy's headquarters happen to be. It seems like Ipsy will be trying to feature more bags designed by local artists. So if you were blessed with the artist gene then I would recommend following Ipsy on Facebook to stay updated about the upcoming opportunities for you wonderful local artists.
The first product I received was Nicole by OPI nail polish from their new Roughles Collection. I received the color "On What Grounds?" The color is perfect for spring. It really reminds me of Easter. It is a textured nail polish so no top coat is needed. The best way to describe it is, for me, it reminds be of a robin's egg. This is a FULL SIZE!!!! product and suggested retail is about $7.99.
This is Bareminerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in the color "Get Ready". I would call this a deluxe size sample. The full size retails for $18 so I would say that this lipstick is about $7.70 worth of product. It is a bit bold for me but it's a beautiful color. I'll save this as a date night lip color.
Please pay no mind to my viens. I am tan but apparently have very transparent skin. I have very visible veins. ANYWHO...... This is Be a Bombshell quad eyeshadow in the color "Bora Bora". I really wouldn't call this a spring color. More fall in my opinion but the colors are gorgeous anyhow. I LOVE the colors. And even more awesome is this is FULL SIZE!!! This retails for $16.
My last awesome item I received was Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer. I tried it this morning and I will say I was a bit scared when I first put it on. My face was very shimmery. But once I put my foundation on the shimmer turned into a subtle glow. I was really happy to receive this. I was beginning to run low on primer. I would call this a deluxe sample but they do sell this size on Pixi's website so I'll upgrade it to travel size. It's basically the same thing but it makes me feel better about the size. And this retails for $9.
I received about $40 worth of products for $10. I would say that it was a great value considering 2 of the 4 products were full size. One of which covered the cost and then some. If you are interested in signing up just click here.
**** Please note that this IS my personal referral link so if you do choose to sign up I will receive credit for it. I also pay for this sub myself so the bag was not provided by Ipsy.
